Preventive Health Programs

Preventive health programs are intended to prevent disease, promote healthy lifestyles and protect the health and safety of county residents. Vilas County Public Health monitors the community and identifies health problems continually as through an annual Community Health Assessment.

Health problems and health hazards in the community are investigated through various reports and home visits, as necessary. The Department enforces laws and regulations that protect health and ensure safety of the residents of Vilas County.

Immunizations are provided to children and public flu clinics are offered throughout the county. In addition, the Public Health Department staff links people to needed personal health services to ensure the provision of health care when it is otherwise unavailable.
