2009 H1N1 Influenza

General Information

The 2009 H1N1 Influenza virus is a respiratory illness that is spread by human to human contact. It is a new virus that has not been seen before. Because of this, the CDC is interested in monitoring the spread of the virus to see if it changes. Below are links to more information about the virus and its effects on various populations.

Symptoms of 2009 H1N1 Influenza are similar to seasonal influenza and include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. There are antiviral drugs available that can be prescribed to treat the illness and make the symptoms milder.

Wash your hands with soap and clean running water. Visit www.cdc.gov/h1n1 for more information.
